Harrison VFW Newsletter May 2019

Brothers  & Sisters, This month of April was a great success. Our Fish Fry’s were the best ever. I want to thank the LOV-s, VFW, Men’s Auxiliary members, Boy Scouts & all other volunteers for their hard work and dedication.

The Cabana opens May 2nd. I want to thank all the volunteers who worked this past weekend to get it cleaned, tables stained and bar top painted.

We need to start pushing our gun raffle tickets and volunteers to go out and get door prizes for our Car Shows and Cruise In’s.

This month we have a bike run 5/4 (Rally for Callie), Lov-s Breakfast on 5/11, Lov-s Craft Show on 5/18 and our Memorial Day Parade and service 5/27.

We are holding our Election of officers on May 15th at 7PM. We ask that our VFW Member’s attend to vote on our new officers.

I hope everyone has a good month.

In closing, please keep our friends who are ailing in your prayers.

In April, the Post helped 400 Veterans and families with VA assistance, such as driving to Veterans facilities and assisting with paper work and finances. We helped thru Charitable Events using the Canteen and Event Center.  Every Thursday at noon AA meets here. We have given out over $2,750 in April for our veteran members, local area needy, etc. This is what we are here for – to help! Post needs your help to step up and get active a few hours each month!

We are going to have our Gun Raffle this year, October 5th. The tickets will be $200.00. It will still be a one in four chances to win. The ticket includes dinner for two. If you buy your ticket before July 9th you will be entered into an early bird drawing to win a Henry’s Golden Boy 22. For tickets & questions contact Harry Power 513-673-1334.
