Harrison VFW Newsletter August 2019
I’ll start off by giving this month’s “Atta Boy” award to Billy Floyd for all the hard work and dedication he puts into our VFW and for keeping our Cabana going strong. Thanks, Billy!
The 3rd Wednesday of each month the VFW has its meeting and one of my goals as Commander is to get some new faces to attend these meetings and bring fresh ideas on future events and suggestions on improvements. Remember, it’s your VFW and we need your input! If you are a member, join us every 3rd Wednesday of the month @ 7PM. Please help make my goal a reality! I would be smiling from ear to ear, and it’s not easy to make me smileJ.
As always, we salute the LOV-s and the men’s group for all they do each and every month to help our VFW. We couldn’t do it without them.

Dear Commrades & Commadetts,
July sure was a busy month! Lots of good music, 2nd monthly cruise in, plus the weekly cruise in. The weather finally came around, a bit hot but dry.
August looks to be fairly busy, more good music, monthly & weekly cruise ins & our flea market/yard sale.
I want to Thank LOV-s and the Duwel for the new sign and bar stools. Also, for helping get the new coolers. I would like to Thank Tom for the new fire pit. More projects are being planned so stayed tuned.
I hope everyone’s summer is going good. Stay safe out there and hope to see you at the post.
Please keep all our vets in your prayers past and present.
Bill Floyd, 2nd Vice

POST HELPING VETERANS & AREA NEEDY
In July, the Post helped 1155 Veterans and families with VA assistance, such as driving to Veterans facilities and assisting with paper work and finances. We helped thru Charitable Events using the Canteen and Event Center. Every Thursday at noon AA meets here. We have given out over $3550.00 in July for our veteran members, local area needy, etc. This is what we are here for – to help! Post needs your help to step up and get active a few hours each month!
We are going to have our Gun Raffle this year, October 5th. The tickets will be $200.00. It will still be a one in four chances to win. The ticket includes dinner for two. Questions contact Harry Power 513-673-1334.
