Harrison VFW Newsletter March 2017

Howdy Comrades, LOV-S, Men and friends of VFW Post 7570. The newsletter is late and it’s all my fault. Send complaints to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. J Nominations for officers will be accepted at the April meeting and elections will be held at our May meeting. If you have someone in mind or would like to serve yourself; now is the time to let the QM know. FISH FRY season or like others call it – LENT is happening now. Thanks to everyone who makes our fish fry work. I know there is a lot of folks contributing and we cannot thank them enough. We will not be doing a Mud Run this year due to some logistical issues and timing. I did not want to do something we did not have enough time to promote.  There is big gun raffle for $200 a ticket, there are 62 guns, chances are 1 out of 4 to win, drawings on Sat., July 22 which includes dinner for 2.  See flyer for information on guns to be raffled.  VFW Post 7570 Golf scramble will be on Monday, July 17th at Hidden Valley Golf Course.  Flyer with details will be published next week.  I will not be running for any office this year. My time was severely limited in August 2016 and I don’t think it is fair to hold a position and not be around. I appreciate all that was done and is being done at the post. I will continue to support where I can. Lord willing, I will be helping at a fish fry this season. Please don’t think the VFW is not special to me. It is literally 25% of what I do on a daily basis at work. You only have so much time. Thanks again for all of the post supporters, friends and patrons. God Bless.

Michael W. Jones, Commander
