Harrison VFW Newsletter July 2017
Being the new post commander I must say that I am humbled and honored to fill that position. I have to believe we have one of the most productive and vibrant posts in the state and I hope to continue on with the great work of my predecessors.
As we start a new summer season at the VFW. I would like to thank all those who have worked so hard over the last year to make the post what it is today. We have a lot going on and it is obvious that we have a reputation of doing good for the community and that leads to being able to provide support for our veterans. Just this last weekend we had events that resulted in several hundred people having fun, doing good and supporting our post. In July we have another cruise-in car show and the gun raffle. Both should be good events and I encourage all to participate.
We are in the process of evaluating the infrastructure of the post to determine what can be upgraded and what can be done to make sure we have what is needed to continue into the future. To that end, we are looking for ideas and recommendations from all our members and have already received some suggestions that are being discussed. If you have suggestions please let us know.
In conclusion remember our core responsibilities of doing good for our vets, good for our family and community.
GOD BLESS AMERICA & PROTECT OUR TROOPS
