Harrison VFW Newsletter January 2016

COMMANDER’S MESSAGE

What a great job on holiday care packages – 37 “stuffed” boxes were shipped to reach approx. 600 soldiers. Thanks to Judy and Bev for chairing this and for the volunteers who donated items/money and for the large group who came down and packed the packages. Responses were: Tyler wrote:  “Thank you very much for everything.  My unit and I greatly appreciate it and will utilize everything.  We couldn’t be more blessed to know we have people behind us, it made the holidays easier.  Thanks everybody who helped arrange this and got everything together.  It is greatly appreciated”. Andy wrote: “Thank you so much for your care and support.  The care packages have gone a long way with the guys.  Some of the things were really needed, llike the body soaps, if you know what I mean.  It is good to know that there are still people that care about deployed soldiers and still support us.  So thank you again for everything.  God Bless”

There will be a planning meeting on Tues, Jan 26 at 7pm for the fish fries which start on Feb. 12 and other events.

Pray to God for the safety of our troops and our country.

God Bless our Country, it’s Veterans and all in our Post 7570 Family

Robert L. Ostertag, Commander
