Harrison VFW Newsletter December 2016

COMMANDER’S MESSAGE

MERRY CHRISTMAS Comrades and friends. Christmas for me is a time of giving and remembering this great birth that changed the world. Whatever it is for you, feel safe that the members of the VFW and their families sacrifice for you to do whatever. Thanks to ALL our wonderful volunteers who donated items, gave money and came down and helped pack the 32 STUFFED boxes. Also, thanks to the Boy Scout troop 693 who came down both nights to help us. There will be happy troops somewhere far off and that is good. Some troopers will say they don’t need it, but they do. I know I enjoyed opening up random boxes and getting something new in it, especially when I was in some remote areas. Thanks again for supporting this effort. I hope this Christmas season will bring you joy and happiness. I know for some of you there are struggles and I pray for your speeding relief. There is a lot of activity at the post this time of the year, so come and hang out and get involved. I will have to travel to Louisville for work this December a few times, but my thoughts are with you guys.

On Friday, December 16th, we will be going to the VA hospital to take presents and have a Bingo with veterans there.  We will be leaving the Post at 5pm, or you can meet us there.  See Booger if you have any questions.  I should be at the final VFW member meeting. Let’s have a big turn out, so we can look forward to a New Year. If I don’t see you, Merry Christmas, Happy New and God Bless.

Thanks,

Michael W. Jones, Commander
