Harrison VFW Newsletter August 2016

COMMANDER’S MESSAGE

Comrades and friends I’m sorry for the delay on the newsletter, it is 100% my fault; no excuses. Tomorrow night (7 PM, 9 Aug) is the planning meeting for our Sep. 11 honoring and our Sept 17 car show. If you would like to help and be a part, please come out. All voices will be heard. If you don’t participate, you can NOT complain about what we do. J You may have heard about the Men’s auxiliary facing some changes and the LOV-S is affected by this as well. All true, but WE control our post and are researching best options. We did receive a letter from the State telling us what we already know and the district Auxiliary sent us a letter as well extending us some assistance. However we proceed, it will be a decision made by the post and all who call it home. We had a ton of folks at the executive board meeting and I hope to see that same spirit, when you are not looking to string me up. I hope to change positions with my current company, which is going to allow me some more free time to be at the post; wish me luck. The schedule is filling up and the house seems to be rock’n a lot. We will continue to look for ways to support the post and make it the place to be for the community. Big Thanks to all who do so much to keep us going.

Michael W. Jones, Commander
