Harrison VFW Newsletter April 2016

COMMANDER’S MESSAGE

Hope everyone had a happy and beautiful Easter. Nominations for officers for the upcoming year will be at the April 13th meeting.  It is important that we have young members learn positions and take over this Post.  June 9th is the Post’s 70th Anniversary.  We will be celebrating on Saturday, June 11th.

I would like to thank all the wonderful volunteers who work so hard every Fish Fry. We averaged over 350 dinners per night.  The Post cannot operate without our volunteers.  THANKS SO MUCH.

The Event Center improvements are being done, looking so much better. Thanks again to the volunteers who have been helping.

Pray to God for the safety of our troops and our country.

God Bless our Country, it’s Veterans and all in our Post 7570 Family

Robert L. Ostertag, Commander

We need new young blood to keep moving forward for the next 70 years. If not, the Post will not be here in two years. We need 4 or 5 members to do different jobs. If everyone helps it’s not too much for anyone to do!

God Bless America and Protect Our Troops,

LOVE OUR VETERANS – SOCIETY

Monthly breakfast is 4/9 and Meat Loaf Dinner is 4/22. Volunteers are needed for both events.  Thanks to everyone who donated candy and volunteered for the Easter Party and desserts and worked the Fish Fry Dinners.  Both were a huge success.  At our April meeting on April 28th at 7pm we will be asking for volunteers to be on the nomination committee for next year officers.  Nominations accepted at the May meeting and elections at the June meeting. Hope you will think about being an officer.

 God Bless Our Veterans

POST HELPING VETERANS & AREA NEEDY

The Post has helped in March: 29 Veterans and families with VA assistance, driving to Veterans facilities and assisting with paper work and finances. People helped thru Charitable Events using the Canteen, Event Center. Not counting, Care Packages to 300 soldiers. Every Thursday at noon AA meets here. We have given out over $4,880.00 for our veteran members, local area needy, etc. This was a big month and that’s what we are here for – to help! Post needs your help to step up and get active a few hrs. a month!
