Harrison VFW Newsletter July 2015

COMMANDER’S MESSAGE

Thanks to everyone that has helped keep our post running. A big thanks to Jim Sizemore, our past Quartermaster and Joe Ecklar, past Chaplain. They did a great job these past five years.

NEW OFFICERS

Jeremy Anderson, Quartermaster

Matthew Brown, Adjutant

Regina Graichen, 3 yr. Trustee

Walt Miller, Chaplain

We wish a speedy recovery for Walt; you are in our prayers.

We need members to get involved and come to the meetings. 2nd Wednesday of the month 7:30pm. The next meeting is 7/8/2015, be there please. This Post will not be here to help Vets and their families unless you get involved!

SATURDAY, JULY 11: Picnic at Ft. Thomas VA Hospital, volunteers to meet at Post at 9:15 and leave by 9:30am. Our Post has a cook out and feed them and then they play Bingo. These men/women are heroes, most all of these Vets stay there till the end! This is a great thing to do. See Bougar or Hippo for questions. Need not be a member to go.

God Bless our Country, its Veterans and all in our Post 7570 Family,

Robert L. Ostertag, Commander

LOVE OUR VETERANS –SOCIETY

Happy Summer!! It has been voted that monthly LOV-S will be donating $125.00 to a Veterans organization. We have a list of organizations that we will be donating to. However, if there is a Veterans organization that you would like us to donate to, please contact me or Bev Hilmer.

July 11th All You Can Eat Breakfast $7.00, 8:30a-11:30a. LOV-S will be hosting a Chicken Dinner on July 18th, $12.00, 4pm-7pm. Includes ½ chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, coleslaw, dinner roll and dessert, eat in or carry out. We are asking members to volunteer to help work the dinner and or donate a dessert. Desserts are much needed. We want this to be a success and without volunteers we cannot do it. Please call me at 513 407-7090 if you can donate a dessert or work.

Here’s a review from one of our satisfied customers!

Heard so much about the All You Can Eat Breakfast the last few years I decided it was time to take a chance. I arrived at 10am and was greeted by a bodacious blonde, she took my dough and gave me a wink and a ticket. I ambled to the rear and there was a trio of gorgeous ladies serving fabulous meats, cooked to perfection by (gasp) a chef in shorts. Determined to keep my eyes averted from those legs, I had to tear myself away and let the lovely Mary Ann cook my eggs to order. Biscuits & gravy, pancakes, potato casserole, fruits, coffee, juices, and milk rounded out the meal. YOU ALL SHOULD GIVE THE BREAKFAST A TRY!

We are always looking at ways to help our Veterans, if you have any suggestions, contact me or come to our next meeting on July 30 at 7:30pm (change of date)

God Bless Our Veterans

MaryAnn Callan, President LOV-S
