Harrison VFW Newsletter July 2019
I’d like to welcome our newly elected officers, and want to thank all of the outgoing officers. What a great job they’ve done this past year. Also, we salute Harry Power on his job as Commander.
I’m sending this message out to all members of the VFW Post 7570. We need your voice at our meetings as well as your help with our events throughout the year. We have 325 paid-up members but when it comes to our meetings, only 6 – 7 attend. Your opinion matters to this post! Every 3rd Wednesday of the month we have a meeting at 7:00PM and we’d like to see some new faces show-up.
I’d like to congratulate Billy Floyd on the tremendous job he is doing at our Cabana. We had a great turnout at our cruise in on Saturday, 6/22. Also, a big salute to the LOV-s for the food and everything, they work so hard to help the VFW stay alive.
I know I’ve missed someone but give me time to work on this! I want to do the best I can as your Commander but without LOV-s and the Men’s group it would be impossible.
If you’re a member who hasn’t been to a meeting or volunteered at one of our events, come on in…just show up! I think you’ll like it.

POST HELPING VETERANS & AREA NEEDY
In June, the Post helped 1500 Veterans and families with VA assistance, such as driving to Veterans facilities and assisting with paper work and finances. We helped thru Charitable Events using the Canteen and Event Center. Every Thursday at noon AA meets here. We have given out over $4,090 in June for our veteran members, local area needy, etc. This is what we are here for – to help! Post needs your help to step up and get active a few hours each month!
We are going to have our Gun Raffle this year, October 5th. The tickets will be $200.00. It will still be a one in four chances to win. The ticket includes dinner for two. If you buy your ticket before July 9th you will be entered into an early bird drawing to win a Henry’s Golden Boy 22. For tickets & questions contact Harry Power 513-673-1334.
Happy 4th of July to everyone!
