Harrison VFW Newsletter November 2017
November is a great month to honor Veterans and remember those who have fallen. It is because of these special men and women that we have the freedoms that we have today. November 11th is Veterans Day, please thank each and every Veteran you see this day (and every day).
Our Veteran’s Luncheon is on Saturday, November 11, doors open at 1pm, program will begin at 2pm and the Grubbs Sisters Roast Beef Dinner will be served at 3pm. If you are a Veteran of the Post and have not made your reservation, sign up at the Canteen bar by Monday, 11/6.
Also in November, we have our care package mailings. We are so grateful of the men and women serving our Country, this is one way of expressing our gratitude to them. There is a box by the office with a list of suggested items. We also accept monetary donations, give to Hazel. We will be packing the boxes on Wednesday November 29th at 6pm and we could use help on Tuesday, November 28th at 6pm preparing the items. Please let Bev know if you can help.
GOD BLESS AMERICA & PROTECT OUR TROOPS

POST HELPING VETERANS & AREA NEEDY
The Post has helped in September: 47 Veterans and families with VA assistance, driving to Veterans facilities and assisting with paper work and finances. People helped thru Charitable Events using the Canteen, Event Center. Every Thursday at noon AA meets here. We have given out over $6,300 for our veteran members, local area needy, etc. This is what we are here for – to help! Post needs your help to step up and get active a few hrs. Each month!
We have many projects in the works, if you can help, contact Hippo.
We are asking for your help. There is a box by the office for donations and a list of suggested items to be mailed to our deployed soldiers. Please place items in box before November 20th. If you would like to make a monetary donation, we will do the shopping. The mailings will be the week of Nov. 27. We will need volunteers on Tuesday, 11/28 and Wednesday 11/29 at 6pm. Contact Bev @ 513 325-6182.
PLEASE NOTE: If you want your newsletter mailed, please leave your address with a bartender at the Post. Otherwise, the newsletter is being e-mailed only. Extra copies are at the Post for you to pick up.
